Stark County Fire Rating/ Burn Restriction Information
The 2022 Burn Restriction is in effect when the North Dakota Rangeland Fire Rating is in the “High”, “Very High”, or “Extreme” category and/or a Red Flag Warning has been issued. The Rangeland Fire Rating is issued on a daily basis.
THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF A BURN RESTRICTION IS A CLASS B MISDEMEANOR NDCC
37-17.1-10: MAXIMUM SENTENCE OF
30 DAYS IN JAIL AND $1,500 FINE

Categories
"Low" Category
"Moderate" Category
Charcoal grills, smokers, and gas grills are allowed when following grilling safety guidelines.
Outdoor/backyard fire pits, fire places and chimineas may be used within city limits and must be equipped with a screen to contain sparks and embers and flame must stay contained inside the screen at all times. Ensure the unit is on a non-combustible surface and maintain a distance of 15’ from combustibles or structure.
Burning trash, grass, leaves etc. is prohibited. If a complaint is received
concerning smoke from a fire, the fire will be required to be extinguished.
