Firefighter's Auxiliary

The purpose of the Firefighter’s Auxiliary is to support the Dickinson City Fire Department. The Goal of the Auxiliary is to provide aid to fire victims and those requiring special needs in our community and to provide a luncheon to the firefighters at General Alarms.

Any spouse or friend of a Dickinson City Fire Department Fire Fighter may join the auxiliary as long as they are in good standing with the Fire Department. It is the duty of all the members to attend the meetings of the organization, and also to cooperate with the officers and the members to improve the organization. Also all members are expected to perform any duties to the best of their ability.

The Auxiliary meetings are held at 7:00 P.M. at the Central Fire Station on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. All Firefighter’s spouses and friends are encouraged to join the organization. The Organization participates in the Fire Safety’s Sake Smoke Alarms, therefore the organization sells a Petey, the Puppy Firefighter and a Big Red Truck Smoke Alarm to be placed in a Child’s room. The Smoke Alarms may be purchased at the Dickinson City Fire Department, or through any Auxiliary member. The Smoke Alarms are also a wonderful gift.

The Auxiliary sponsors a Kick-Off Breakfast during Fire Prevention Week with the proceeds to aid the Firefighters. Also during Fire Prevention Week the first baby born in the city is awarded a Children Smoke Alarm. The Auxiliary also has worked along with the Firefighters during July 4th activities by sponsoring a Breakfast to assist the Men and Women in the Military. The Auxiliary also hold a Picnic during the month of June where all members spouse and friends are invited. During the month of December, a Christmas Party is held where the spouses and Friends are invited. Recently started a Christmas Party for the Children of the Fire Department with Santa Claus handing out Gifts and candy was begun. The Auxiliary assists in the State Conventions as they are needed. The Auxiliary also will help in providing equipment to the Fire Fighters.

The Auxiliary provides luncheons for the Fire Fighters about four times a year or as we are called upon. A variety of meals is provided for the Firefighters. A training was held at the Dickinson City Fire Department with the Auxiliary preparing and serving a Noon Luncheon. During an extensive fire, the Auxiliary provide meals or food as necessary to aid the Firefighters. The Auxiliary will present a gift donation to Fire Victims in time of need.

All Firefighters' spouses and friends are free to join the organization to assist the Firefighters. Currently the Auxiliary has 12 members and increased membership is welcome.The Auxiliary annual dues are $3.00 per year.
