Bar-b-Que from the Heart

You are invited to be part of the first annual Bar-b-Que from the Heart,North Dakota State BBQ Championship & Firefighters Steak Cook-Off fire department cooking teams from across North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana are invited to compete Friday evening in a steak cook-off.

Bring your grill, we’ll furnish N.D. beef steaks, and you can showcase your skills with fire and win you department some cash and the awesome Firefighter’s Axe Traveling Trophy. Top cooks will be decided by People’s Choice Ballots. The weekend promises to have something for everyone. Highlights for the weekend include great barbeque, live music, beer garden, craft show, food vendors, and more.

The Dickinson Convention & Visitors Bureau announces this event as a State Championship & it is the official Signature Event. Mort Krieg, event organizer, has been involved with the Kansas City Bar-b-Que Society and became interested in developing a ND state competition. He is partnering with the Dickinson Volunteer Fire Dept. for this event. Governor John Hoeven has issued a proclamation designating the event as an official Bar-b-Que Sanctioned State Championship Barbeque Contest, for the State of North Dakota, allowing teams to Bar-b-Que for the Jack Daniels World Championship Invitational Barbeque.
